Carmel-by-the-Sea Culinary Week occurs from June 2 through June 10, 2023! Attracting more than 20 participating restaurants, this week-long event shows off the best of Monterey County's food, wine, and culture. Extraordinary opening and closing events bookend this year's itinerary. The festivities will begin with a Kick-Off Party at Carmel Plaza on Friday, June 2, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. When it's time for the festivities to wind down, Carmel-by-the-Sea Culinary Week will end with cork-popping thunder at the 30th Annual Monterey Winemakers' Celebration on Saturday, June 10, 2023. The week's Art of the Plate theme connects guests with immersive culinary events, special menus, and incentive offers.

Planning Your Visit to Culinary Week

Carmel Plaza

The Kick-Off Party at Carmel Plaza on the first day of Culinary Week will delight attendees with extraordinary food, a large selection of regional wines, and live music in a gorgeous outdoor setting. Committed restaurants include Yofa, Rise+Roam, Hog's Breath Inn, Carmel's Hidden Gem, Dutch Door Donuts, Cultura, Cafe Luna, Flaherty's, Seventh & Dolores, Links Club, Alvarado Street Brewery, and more. Wines will be provided by a list of celebrated local wineries and vineyards that includes Folktale Wines, Dawn's Dream, Galante Vineyards, Hahn Family Wines, De Tierra Vineyards, and Talbott Vineyards.

On June 5, culinary-themed "Ratatouille" will be the featured movie at Carmel's outdoor Forest Theater. An evening with Ted Allen will occur at Sunset Center on June 8 at 7:30 p.m. A familiar face to food enthusiasts and budding chefs, Allen is the Emmy-winning host of Food Network's "Chopped" and "Chopped Junior."

The "icing on the cake" after a delicious and fun week is the three-hour-long 30th Annual Monterey Wine Country Winemakers' Celebration! Taking place on the pavement of Carmel-by-the-Sea at Dolores Street at 1 p.m. on June 10, this "closing ceremony" is destined to be the highlight of the entire event. Showcasing the best offerings of Monterey Wine Country, the celebration offers attendees the opportunity to taste incredible wines from premier wineries.

Attendees of Saturday's celebration will also nibble bites prepared by local artisan chefs while meeting with the who's who of local wine personalities. The Monterey Wine Camp taking place during the event will offer fun, hands-on activities that will have you walking away a true wine expert!
